Meeting with a personal trainer is a great fitness tool. Our personal
trainers will develop a workout customized just for you. They will teach
you the latest workout techniques and provide the motivation and
encouragement you need.
You can meet with a trainer on a regular basis or just once to set up a
personalized workout you can take anywhere.
In addition to one-on-one personal training, we now offer Buddy Training, in which two people share a personal training session. With Buddy Training, you can get the benefits of working with a personal trainer along with the motivation and support of working out with a friend.
Denise has been an ACE-certified personal trainer since 1995 and a group exercise instructor since 1988. She works with clients of all sizes and fitness levels, specializing in the plus-size woman. Denise is also certified by the Arthritis Foundation as an aqua arthritis instructor.
Elly is a NESTA-certified personal trainer. She also has group exercise certifications from TRX, BodyPump, and TurboKick, plus a business degree. She first discovered her passion for exercise when she saw a Jane Fonda video as a child in the USSR. Soon after, she got involved in gymnastics and dancing, as well as weightlifting with bags of potatoes. After she immigrated to the USA in 2000, she decided to pursue a fitness career. She specializes in functional training.
Gloria is an ACSM Certified Health Fitness Specialist. She is also certified by ACE as a group fitness instructor, is a certified Pilates Mat instructor, and is a registered nurse. Her safe and gentle teaching style encourages clients to focus on their own bodies while working pain-free at their own level. She has been in the fitness industry for more than 15 years and incorporates mindfulness and awareness of breathing in every session. She believes in being active for the heart-healthy benefits as well as to have fun, feel good, and manage stress.
Lori (yoga only)
Lori began practicing yoga in 2001 to resolve sciatica and chronic back pain, a result of decades working at a computer. A dedicated practice helped resolve these issues. Grateful for the practice and the improvements to her health, she became an instructor to help others. A graduate of the 500-hour teacher training program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, she also studied Ashtanga yoga in India.
Serena (yoga only)
Serena's teaching nurtures mindfulness, alignment, healing, and restoration. A graduate of the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and an Advanced Relax and Renew Restorative Yoga instructor, she uses Feldenkrais and Thomas Hanna Somatic movements to help clients release long-held patterns of muscular pain and restriction, resulting in greater mobility.
Sue (yoga only)
Sue has studied yoga for about 20 years. She received her teacher's training at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco and began teaching in 2005. Her training also includes certification in restorative yoga and continuing education in anatomy and philosophy. She works with clients to cultivate awareness and well-being, using a variety of yoga techniques to build strength, stamina, balance, and flexibility.

Personal Training Policy
Please come to your personal training sessions on time, dressed in appropriate attire (comfortable clothing and athletic shoes), and ready to work out. It is in your best interest to be on time because sessions will not run over if you are late. Please bring your own towel and water.
We require 24 hours' notice of cancellation of any personal training session. Without 24 hours' notice, the full rate will be charged. Cancellations must be made through the club. Refunds or credits are given only for medical reasons. A doctor's note must be submitted in order to receive refund or credit.
