We are pleased to introduce therapeutic massage as
a complement to your workout. We have created a warm, inviting
environment for you to explore the wonderful world of massage.
Our Massages Upper Body Issues Head, neck, shoulders, mid back This massage is great for people who work long hours on the computer, long-distance commuters, and anyone who carries tension and stress in the neck, shoulders, and back. While some attention will be paid to the arms and hands, a majority of this massage will be spent on the trunk of the body. Achy Low Back Low back (quadratus lumborum), gluteus muscles, hamstrings, I.T. bands, and psoas (located in the front of the body and often a hidden factor in chronic back pain) This massage addresses the different muscle groups that directly and indirectly stress the low back and is beneficial for those suffering from chronic or acute low back pain. Carpal Tunnel Trouble Neck, trapezius, biceps, triceps, and lots of forearms, wrists, and hands The name says it all. This is great for those who suffer from carpal tunnel issues. This massage will NOT get rid of your carpal tunnel problems, but it can help to loosen the chronically tight muscles and adhesions that contribute to it. Lower Body Drama Glutes, thighs, calves, and feet This massage is great for runners, walkers, and those of us who wear bad shoes. It is also beneficial to those who sit for long periods of time. This massage gets the circulation moving in the lower body and provides attention to this hardworking area. It's All About the Feet Feet Foot reflexology involves manipulation of specific reflex areas in the foot that correspond to other parts of the body. The Works Full body This total body experience improves circulation and relaxation by addressing every body part. Massage Techniques While most massage employs a combination of various techniques, the following are the primary massage techniques utilized in our massages. Therapeutic Massage This massage employs a combination of deep relaxing strokes, deep tissue and myofascial release techniques, trigger points, and acupoint therapy. Acupoint Therapy Acupressure (acupuncture without needles) can be effective in helping relieve headaches, eye strain, sinus problems, neck pain, backaches, arthritis, muscle aches, tension due to stress, ulcer pain, menstrual cramps, lower backaches, constipation, and indigestion. Reflexology Reflexology involves manipulation of specific reflex areas in the feet, hands, and ears that correspond to other parts of the body. It is especially useful in stress-related illnesses and chronic disorders, and in helping cleanse the body. Reflexology is also convenient in cases in which an area of the body is traumatized or diseased to the extent that direct manipulation is not appropriate. Swedish Massage One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a vigorous system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury.
